Mothers of the Bride
The fashion-forward Lanvin dress that Catherine's mom, who, wore features slim, fluid lines, a sophisticated indigo hue, and a unique neckline. We also like her unexpected, creative accessories: lilac-colored heels, a purple jade cocktail ring, and a white fur-trimmed bag.
Soft colors and short hemlines are ideal for outdoor summer weddings; and we think the lace overlay makes the design feel more youthful and a little fancier. Her choice: a floor-length Monique Lhuillier gown in a dark chocolate hue. The matching lace bolero provides modesty without completely covering up Kay's lovely arms and neck. A touch of color in the form of yellow diamond earrings completes the look.
We like that Renee's gown, custom designed by Michelle Rahn, is luxurious without being ostentatious, sexy but not outrageous.
A design like this has lots of wear-again potential. Understated accessories and flat sandals worked for Nancy's casual look, but heels and more dramatic jewelry would make it holiday-party ready.
